I've bought my three-year old daughter her first bike, a pretty made-in-China thing painted in pink with plastic tassels that hang from the handlebars that I swear weighs more than a decent adult bike, but in looking for baskets to put on the bike all I can find is plain undecorated ones; the Hello Kitty, Disney character, and any other variations seem to come only with finished (children's) bikes. I'm writing from Japan; that's the situation here.
This inquiry obviously finishes somewhere quite short of racing and everything else that seems to form the core of this forum, but there should be a bike lover or two who wants to ride with and knows how to be a momentary hero to their kid, and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Looking forward to the day when my daughter's clunker turns her into the first female winner of the Tour de France. (Insert appropriate smiley here.)

Good luck. I had the same problem and finally bought the bike that came with said requisite basket. None to be found in my neck of the woods.
