  1. I am in the planning stage of putting together a really good lighting system for my Evox. I am reading various forum posts etc to get ideas and info on what type of lights to use and what kind of battery. Having snooped around Canadian Tire for some inspiration, I seen some 12 volt halogen fog lamps (Product# 20-3570-6)that look like good front lights, and was thinking of some of the red clearance lights for the back. Maybe mount two of each on a piece of metal bracket side by side. For a battery, I was thinking a 12 volt motorcycle battery, which I could recharge at home and since it is fairly small I should be able to fashion a nice little case for it. Since I will be using a 12 volt system, was also considering the installation of a car horn somewheres inconspicuous...(now that would get attention if nobody listens to my little bell! 🙂

Any comments and suggestions for my project would be more than welcome to get the creative juices really flowing. After I select all the components then of course I will have to figger out how to mount it all and have it look good.

  2. I've built my own 12v/20watt light by using a down lighter and some 50mm pvc plumbing as the housing .And i use a sealed regargeble battery, the type used as backup in burgler alarm systems.I have a larger 12v battery thet i carry in my bacpac and a smaller one that is built into a water bottle,so i can carry it in the w,cage.Depending on how many hours battry life i need.

Wondering about the sealed rechargeable battery you speak of...is that better choice than my idea of a motorcycle battery? The mtrcycle battery has sealed top on it as well, it was the first thing I thought of in terms of being 12 volt, rechargeable and small. Is there a weight difference?

  4. Check out this site it shows the battries i speak of

Go /products/batteries if you open on a type of battery, select the tech data icon and you'll get to know all you need.
