  1. Hi all,
I just got my new 2012 CUBE in the mail and after fitting all the parts, I noticed that my rear brakes are loose.
Loose meaning when I lift the bike, spin the rear wheel and start slowly pressing the brake lever, I see the brake pads traveling a log way to the brake disc. The lever almost reaches the steering wheel and then the brake pads start to bite.
So I'm guessing there's a lot of clearence between the pads and the disc. How can I change that?
The brakes are SHIMANO BR-M445 hydraulic.
In comparison, the front brakes bite almost immediately, so theres a very noticeable difference between the two brakes.

    thanks

  2. Your description suggests that you need to bleed the rear brake line ...

  3. Yes!
Infact! I did some experimenting on the front brake and since I opened up the oil compartment near the brake lever, I ended up letting air into the system, so as it turns out, air was in the rear brakes in the first place, and now it's in the front as well... hahahaha! newbie... xD

On the plus side it's obvious that I need to bleed the system to get good results : )

    Thanks for the reply

    cheers
