I had crummy shifting and I was constantly tinkering around with the adjuster barrel on the rear mech... Eventually I had to concede that the cable housing had a kink in it and the cable was running horribly.
New cable housing + clean up rear mech = shifting like new again!
Ahhh, that's better. 🙂
