Crossmax or Crossride?

I have Crossrides/Stan's NoTubes and am happy with their performance. Would I buy them again? No. I am not a big fan of factory wheelsets because individual components can not be easily replaced. Personally, I would go with either XTR or Chris King hubs, 14-15 DB Spokes and either Mavic 517 or Bontrager Vaiiant Rims. All parts are easily replaceable cheaply and locally.

I agree. I've just ordered a set of X517s on XTR hubs. Much cheaper than factory wheels, almost as light, definitely as strong (if built by a decent wheel-builder) and a lot easier to service as the wheels get on in life...
