  1. Do any of you racers do any sort of cross training?

Also, I searched a little but I couldn't find anything. Would any cat 4 or up people want to give me an example of there training schedule? I started racing cat 5 this year and I am always finishing closer to the back than the front. Its getting frustrating...😕

No, not for cycling, it doesn't help. If you want to get better at riding your bike, ride your bike.

  3. cross training in the winter months is good because if a racer tries to train all year round on the bike he can end up mentally and physically burned. cross training can keep you in shape during october-december when your not riding your bike.

    DD,

Sounds like you need a combination of intensity and volume...

My suggestion, though it will take you tons of time, would be to read, thoroughly, the following thread:

    cyclingforums.comt314849.html

There are too many contributors to mention...

Even though it is written in "Watts", there is information that can be gleaned and used regarding all aspects of training; even recovery... 🙂

    Jim
