  1. Watching a latenight programes and missed the beginning of one of the series
where sports people are taken and trained to a high level of fitness and
they then take part in a race. This programme was about a girl taking part
in some cross country sking race and actually being in the team that won.

Can someone fill me in on her details and what she did before this race.

I am sure it has been on before at a more sensible time.

    Thanks

The girl in question was Kath Joy, a 27 year-old marketing
    manager(normally)

The programme was one in a series called The Challenge. This instalment
was Arctic:The Challenge, and featured the Ukatak 2004 race in Quebec,
which is not just cross-country skiing, but an arctic adventure race,
consisting of show-shoeing and mountain biking, as well as the skiing.

Here's her diary on the event :

This sleepmonsters site also has information on the BBC's association
with the team that Kath competed in eVent Endure UK.

    HTH!

Thanks, that's just what I'm looking for.
