Peak hour commuter motorist, poor [censored] I pity all of them.

I support Critical Mass insofar as they present an opportunity for cyclist to gain back some of the ground that is given over to motorists. Sure motorists pay rego etc, but giving over all these space & resources to powering the passenger motorist industry is a real drag on the quality of life for people living in this city.
I may have the luxury of cycling into work every day, but this is an option that many people can make. There are cycling commuters in all sort of industries who work side by side by those who drive (etc). Modern day dependence on the car has created a different mindset for individuals or new families who are looking at setting roots which rely on current transport channels. That’s why a majority of motorists would regard, cyclists, walkers, etc, as a aberration or nuisance interrupting into their domain of roads & hways. More of a recreation not as a viable option.
I suppose there is a more decent code of behaviour cycling groups like Critical Mass can have with their activities, but looking at this personally, I find that I am forever the 2nd class citizen when I’m out there on the Roads. I suppose there is a climate for an expression of rebellion here.

Its not really meant as an expression of rebellion. more good ol' common sense. Its easy for the press to go and fotograf the one guy with blue hair amongst the CM'rs cos then they have a label to pidgeon hole em with.

And as for drivers paying Rego, half of that is tax, the rest admin charges and public liability charges to uphold the costs of all those road trauma units and payouts...

Its all about people, not cars getting from A-to-B. In a car, on foot, 2 wheels, whatever. A-to-B. preferably I'll take my trip in one piece 😄
