  1. During my most recent ride, I took a tumble and landed bull force on my hip joint against concrete payment. I am 64 and momentarily considered that my hip likely was broken. Fortunately, it was not and I have resumed Spinning classes 2 or 3 times a week. My rides are normally 22 to 42 miles and wish to resume them very soon. I don't even want to think about landing on my hip like that again. Have been looking for crash pads and would welcome any comments or suggestions or thoughts.

  2. You may want to look into buying the type of "armor" worn by Downhillers.

I can't recommend a retailer -- I think CAMBRIA BICYCLE OUTFITTERS used to carry Downhilling "stuff" ... e.g., shorts with hip pads, etc.

So, check their website (www.cambriabike.com) as a starting point.
