Cranks for only 650c wheels?

No, just diffrent size chainrings. On a 700 bike chainrings are typically 52 -
39. For 55 - 44 you'd have to be Jan Ullrich! But the cranks themselves are the same. Good Luck!

While those ARE some big rings (they'd work well on my tandem...), the difference is only 3.8%.
That's under 1mph difference unless you're really flying... so if they're a good deal, why not?

Of course, if you really need the LOWER gears, that 44 isn't the best choice...

I have a friend who is a strong biker and would often spin-out at 52-11. He put a bigger chain ring
on his upper end and monkey'd around with the derailleur. He's a happy camper flying down those
hills still spinning madly ;-).
