I'm currently riding in hot conditions (not used to that being from the UK) and am getting some uncomfortable symptoms after a long (sweaty) ride. I have aching and cramping legs and the muscles do a weird rippling / twitching action on their own. I also have impaired appetite, a headache and feel exhausted. I put this down to sodium loss because I fuel and hydrate myself adequately and I end up covered entirely in a crust of salt.
I read that magnesium has no benefit for cramp but sodium does.
Does anyone here have similar experiences? Any solutions?

How do you define "adequate fuel and fluid intake"? What kind of kms? Intensity? Weather? Fitness level? Terrain?
