OK, I've googled this silly, and I can't find a recipe anywhere. I want to duplicate that good shortcake they serve at Cracker Barrel. I have become addicted. I tried 4 times last week with different recipes and can't get it. A shortbread recipe came the closest, but still no cigar. Did the Bisquick thing. Good, but not the same.

Do you want me to look up the strawberry shortcake recipe in my 1970's BH&G cookbook for you tonite? It's pretty good, but I haven't had the shortcake at Cracker Barrel to compare it.

I've eaten the Cracker Barrel strawberry shortcake and like it. To tell the truth, I think using Bisquick with added sugar and melted butter to the mix comes about the closest, and made as large drop biscuits.
