Is this how they qualified people for some of the undercard events?
Interesting to see the names of some domestic pros (Andy Crater, Austin King, Brice Jones, Josh Carter) a ways down the rankings...these guys could have been duffing it a bit, or perhaps the "heavy hitters" were just that: heavy (i.e., big).

Well, you could assume an anaerobic work capacity of 200-400 J/kg, then convert that to estimate how much additional power above critical power (~functional threshold power) somebody could produce for 7-8 or 15-16 min. It's going to be a pretty crude estimate, however.
