I'm looking at Denti. Merckx Ciocc and Coppi. I was hoping to keep the cost below $2k my LBS has the Merckx but wants $2150. I can get a Denti custom bulit for $1800. These are Aluminium Road frames I looking into. Any suggetions? The Merckx Team SC is the specific model I would be getting are there others I should look at?
Check out the Merckx Leader - same geometry and weight as the Team SC but $800 less. 7005 vs Scandium - big deal. "Carbon wrapped chainstay" is pure bogusness on the SC.
Merckx has the best geometry of any bike I've ridden - almost like autopilot - very Zen like. Ciocc is much quicker and requires you to pay more attention to what you're doing - tends to oversteer, you get used to it but you're always aware of it.

I looked at the Leader also but I didn't like the paint scheme but for $800 I might be able to learn to like it😉

There are some good deals to be had at the moment on some French & Italian frames. You may want to check out some of the Look & Colnago frames for sale on totalcycling.com Depending on what size you need they have some very sweet frames priced real nice. ex: Look KG381i w/HSC4 fork and FSA hiddenset for ~$1680.00 Colnago CT1(Ti w/carbon stays) Force fork and stem ~$1760. I just bought a new frame myself and know the choices can be agonizing....good luck to you!
