Hey all, I had this nagging bout of hamstring "cramping." It wasn't actually always a cramp, but would be that "twitch" you feel when you're about to cramp up. It happens during high-intensity workouts (which I expected) and sometimes when I'm just in my chair at work (unexpected).
I focused for about a week now on allowing it to recover by using my recovery week wisely and getting massage, stretching, and trying SMR (self myofascial release), but it's sill kind of there. Anyone ever have something like this happen before, and if so, how did you get rid of it?
I've had the same thing in my left calf muscle. I've never found and answer to why or 100% relief. It does seem to be related to hydration levels and electolite balance (on the negative side), so I work on getting these things back into balance. Once the cramp fires, I've found that there are residual effects for several days. I'm sure this is from the massive amount of tension that the muscle is subjected to during the cramp.
