Never got into cycling, but a recurring back injury has pushed me to hang up my running shoes for good. So, I'm hoping cycling will be a good fitness replacement that's easier on my back. A good friend of mine owns a LBS and given my back issues and the desire to stay below $1K, he recommended the 2007 Specialized Sequoia. For 2007, it has the exact same geometry as the Roubaix. The only difference is lower end components and no carbon seat stays (comparing the 2 base bikes). Not knowing what a road bike should "feel" like, I was wondering if any of you have had experience with the 2007 Sequoia and could share your likes/dislikes. What else should I be considering? Thanks.
