I've Googled for this and found that the link has a right way round but it doesn't say which way.
When fitted the link has one side forward of the other. Does the forward side go against the adjacent sprocket or away from it? The instruction sheet shows the forward side against the sprocket but doesn't specify which way round to fit it. Tried it like this last night and got some skipping. Have turned it round and adjusted the indexing but haven't had time to try it yet. Chain and cassette are new.

It doesn't matter for sprockets larger than 12 teeth.

I found my Wipperman Connex would skip on the 11 tooth cog (and the 12 under heavy load) if I had it on the wrong way. The correct way (as I found out by trial and error) is to look at the banana shaped hole in the link and have the curve of the banana facing towards the cogs. I have had no problems since doing this.

Me likewise, although I never really liked the chain (808) so went back to SRAM, which felt much smoother.

Solved. When on the inside of the chain the long end should trail. No more skipping on 11 tooth sprocket.
