  1. Quick question...I have noticed that a lot of people use the SRAM gold link on Shimano 9 speed chains. I do know that the SRAM chains are a little wider than HG chains. Although the variance is neglegable (.3mm or something to that effect) the SRAM link seems to work so far. Wipperman chains are pretty much the same width as the Shimano (measured with caliper). So has anyone used a Connex link on a Shimano chain and does it work better than the SRAM?

I've used Connex links( 9 speed) on a Sram chain that came on my tandem and it works great. I use
Connex links on my Wipperman equipted road bikes also. I discarded the Sram connector links that
came on the tandem, they were much more difficult to disassemble than the Connex.
