Okay nice answer but I read a book about weight loss and there
they speak about pounds and there seem to be american pounds
(372 grams) and english pounds (450 grams). Besides Canada lies
on the american continent but is a former british colony. Just to
understand my book I ask this question and your answer
gives no solution. So I feel dissatisfied. I know the difference
between the notion of weight and mass already but not about the pounds in
use.

It was a "pound of gold" and the feathers weigh more because a Troy pound of
gold only has 12 ounces.
