I have a real highend hardtail fraim (26"😉with a stiff suspension on my moutain bike. I want to dump the disck brakes.(overkill since I am only comuting) and the rear frame is compatable with rim brakes. I have Sram 9 gearlevers. Will Road calliphers work if I instal them on the 26 " bike and 26 " wheels
What rigid carbon fork adaptable for rim tyre braking, can you sugest, and of course what break calliphers?
Whar real cool carbon fibre 26" carbon fibre cross country wheelssets are available.?
I'd keep the disc brakes, they'd be better for rain or other inclemate weather!
Speaking of overkill, it would seem that these "real cool" carbon fibre forks and wheelsets would fall squarely into that category.
Concur w/ astroluc. The discs are the only 1 of the 3 you mentioned that seem rational on a commuter.
I put a cheap steel fork on my converted MTB, and it made a big difference vs. the shocks, couldn't tell you if magnesium would be better. Note you'll need a "suspension adjusted" fork but that alone is not specific enough, your axle to crown height is key, need to measure that and stay close.
