  1. Well what a fiasco the World Championships were for UK swimmers! Quite
    a few were downright complacent, but first prize to Melanie Marshall,
    who can always be guaranteed to shy away from her PB at a big meet. "I
    did the best I could on the day, and you can't ask for more than
    that". Oh right, that's alright then.

    By her logic, Phelps could do 10 swims throughout the year, all world
    records or within a second of it. Then one occasion he decides to stay
    up all night partying, then drinks 10 "Buds", and eats 3 pizzas, all
    half an hour before the final. Come the race, he's 35 seonds down on
    his PB....... BUT....... "it's the best he can do in the day", which
    redeems himself.

    What piffle! All I saw was someone who seemed more interested in
    sporting her unique "off the shoulder" designer swimsuit!
