Compensation for long distance interviews.

If you are looking and seek them out, then from what I have seen the answer would be no. Some companies though do have a policy on reimbursement, but they are pretty rare. If they seek you out and are trying to get you to come to work for them, then many times they will make arrangements that include helping with if not covering your cost.

Either way, if you are a particularly hard to find type of worker, then the chances are much better that they will be willing to work with you.

You can always ask, but they can always turn their nose up when you do. But yes, in answer to your question, it is possible but a lot depends on the situation and circumstances.

It would help if you would tell us what kind of Job you're looking for, I get calls from Head Hunters on a regular basis, they all offer expenses, including Flights and Hotel etc...these are for Auto Industry Jobs btw...

I apply for CAD Designer / Technical Writer / some Mechanical Engineer jobs. Most of my experience is in technical writing. I've done very little engineering work that involves calculations or analysis.

I mostly get a lot of calls now from headhunters because I posted my resume on Monster.com and Careerbuilder.
