I am wanting to get into biking and haven't owned a bike in quite a while. I am wanting to ride to lose weight and get in shape. I went to a local bike shop and they suggested that the Giant Rapid3 would probably be a good fit for me at this point. I am most likely to be riding roads more than I would be riding a trail so a mountain bike is out for me. So I thought a road bike would be a bike to look at. I was told at this bike shop that the Rapid is in the middle of a road bike and a hybrid. The price range seems right for me, are there any other bikes comparable to the Rapid? And what are the pros and cons? Thanks

Welcome to the forum!
Just about every major brand ( Felt, Specialized, Fuji, Cannondale, Trek, etc. ) is going to have a model comparably priced and equiped like the Giant Rapid 3.
It might be best if you look at the other brands of bikes in that $650 price range that the bike shops in your area have in stock.
Test ride as many as you can and see which ones feel the best to you.
Once you've got your short list of bikes, you can ask specific questions about those bikes to help you make your decision.

Thanks for the advice I'll check out those other manufactures and will for sure test ride as many as I can before I buy. More opinions are welcome. I want to be as informed as possible before I make a purchase.
