  1. how much is too much?
    my bb to saddle height is 77cm, the seat tube is 45cm will a 350mm seat post be safe? the bike is a merlin xl compact. i'm 6'1" and the frame is a ml, the l has the same length seat tube. one guy at my lbs says its ok anoyjer says its to near the limits!! any views?

  2. As long as the bottom of the post extends beyond the point where the bottom edge of your top-tube intersects the seat-tube, and you're not beyond the "maximum extension" mark on the post, you're good to go.
