I just finished installing a replacement Coda competition disc caliper on the front of my Cannondale. The installation was straight forward, and the system fill and bleed went OK. After installing the brake pads and the wheel, I turned the pad clearance adjuster on the master cylinder to bring the pads into proper adjustment with the rotor. and I noticed that the inside pad moved almost to the rotor before the outside pad started to move. The brake works OK, but I thought both pads were suposed to advance and retract in unison.( That is the way the rear one works,and I thought that was the point of a twin piston design) The right pad remains almost against the rotor when the brakes are released and the outside(left) pad seems to be the only one moving. There is a small set screw on the right side of the caliper, the purpose of which I know not. Could it have something to do with this?
Dan I don't have Coda's... but a similar thing sometimes happens to other brands with the "self adjust" feature.
I have Magura's... and what I do to correct this problem is the following( assuming that the caliper was properly centered to begin with):
1) observe which pad is closer to the rotor.. 2) press the rotor against that pad and have someone pull the brake lever. ( press with fingers on the rotor in two places..i.e. both sides of the pad)
that seems to even out the gap between the pads and the rotor.

The piston is sticking, wedge a small flat-blade screwdriver in between the rotor and caliper on the side that has the bigger gap (careful not to get it between the pad and rotor), then squeeze the brake lever a little.
