  1. I'm think of trying the St Bees/Robin Hoods Bay walk in 2005, with possibly
a few off the route diversions on the way.

Googgle searches are throwing up a number of reference sites, particularly
holiday companies and baggage carriers, but nothing that really indicates
    cheap accommodation and/or rough camping

Any recommended reference sites from out there?

Good plan! I've done it 2.5 times: it's great fun 🙂

When I did it I wasn't camping, so I've not bookmarked anything about
that. I was looking for B&B, and I mainly used this page:

    http://www.coast2coast.co.uk/c2cmap.php3

If you click on the villages at the bottom you'll get accommodation
reviews. I found it quite helpful in some places, although naturally
these things are subjective. Still, it was the best I could find.

Here are some other pages I still have bookmarked, which may/not be of
    interest.

    http://www.coast2coast.co.uk/ubb/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi Chat page: can
be useful for getting answers to specific questions
    http://www.mind-like-water.com/Liberty_Ashore/LA_Articles/Beyond_Gulliver/Walk_Across_England1.html
    http://www.lehigh.edu/~wwt1/C2C/c2c.html
    http://www.gtleisure.co.uk/walks/Walks_Index.htm

    Good luck!
