  1. Maybe the jokers at Melb Clown Hall could consider this left of field approach after their recent parking fine stuffups. 😉

New York, NY (June 17, 2006) -- On Sunday, June 18th, the TIME'S UP! Bicycle Clown Brigade, seen each month clowning around in the bike lanes, continues its serious mission to educate drivers of the increasing dangerous conditions they create for cyclists by parking in the bike lanes.

"Many drivers parked in the bike lanes are unaware that they could be responsible for causing a fatal accident just so they can save the five minutes it would take to find a legal parking space. In addition they don't realize that it's actually illegal to park in the bike lane - the police not only don't give tickets for this offense they park in the lane themselves," says Philipp Rassmann, Time's Up! volunteer.

Barbara Ross, a regular monthly Clown Brigader, notices many police cars illegally parked in the bike lane on 2nd Avenue. "I've seen them leave their cars in the lane and stop in at a coffee shop or just chatting on the streets. I don't have the impression they are on a call."
