  1. I was wondering if the lycra shorts and jersey would look decent on someone like me who is a little overweight. I plan on buying T-Mobile Racing Shorts and Jersey because I'm a big fan of T-Mobile. So I'm wondering what you guys suggest about cycling clothing.

  2. Well if you're a little overweight then you'll just look like Jan during the off-season, so no problem there. 😄

Lycra is a necessary evil for bikers of any size/shape, so don't worry about that. However, keep in mind that black is the most concealing color for lycra. If the suit is mostly hot pink, then it'll probably be pretty revealing of your curves. My suggestion is to be completely honest with yourself about your weight and how self-concious you'd feel wearing the outfit. If you're not going to be comfortable with the way you look in it then don't buy it. Maybe just get the jersey and wear it over a pair of plain black shorts, or use the suit as motivation to drop a few unwanted pounds.

    Hope this helps.

You're not riding to impress anyone, you want to be comfortable. So you look like a chunky Jan Ulrich? Big deal.
