Hey All, I am researching some pedal choices for my new Giant Avail 1 road bike. I am new to Road cycling. I currently have the Crank Brothers Mallet 1 for my Cyclocross bike, which I like because its so easy to clip in and out of but dislike that I can not wear standard shoes for quick errands (I thought the platform would allow for it sadly my feet slip) I will be upgrading to the mallet 2 or 3....
As for my road bike its been suggested that I look at Candy 1 and Candy 2 pedals or egg beater style...what is the difference?
I plan on joining a local group doing rides ranging from 25 - 50 miles each time we gather. Aside from that I will be riding on my own on my down time....
As a beginner I just dont want to be dooped into buying something for the sake of buying it by a salesperson.....Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
