clincher and tubular

I would argue that if you don't know the difference you are probably running clinchers instead.
With Tubular tires you glue the tire and inner tube as a whole assembly onto the rims. The tubular tires used to be called sew-ups because you have to sew the inner tube to the inside of the tire and then glue to the rim.
WIth clincher tires you have separate inner tube and tire which you mount to the rim using tire iron.
Of course ther are now tubless clincher rims which are becoming common.
Tubulars arn't so common anymore unless you do trek or a professional level rider. The clincher tires have improved so much over the years it is generally not worth the hassle to have to deal with glueing tires. Imagine you have to do that while on the side of the road......

Thanks for the reply. You are right, I am using Clinchers then. What I don't understand (bearing in mind I do have a trek with Bontrager wheels) is the fact that my wheels actually say Tubular on the stick livery labels on the side of the rim.

Does this mean they are capable of using Tubulars too?
