  1. Due to unseasonably warm weather, I went out and did a long climb for the first time in months. I think I ran into specificity issues because I usually can output a little more power climbing but today, it was actually a little less than what I've been doing for the same duration on flat/rolling terrain.

My first races this spring will probably be hillclimb events so I may not be able to get a whole lot of long climbs in beforehand.

So, my first question is how much climbing do I have to do to get used to climbing again?

Secondly, there's a ~2 min climb that's fairly steep but at lower elevation and much more conveniently situated. Is there anything I could do with it that would help? Perhaps climb it a few times at FTP at the beginning of every ride?
