  1. Hello all,

    Need some help.

just bought Mavic Aksiums for my Raleigh Grand Prix. I put the rear one on. It is on the frame with Shimano Tiagra deraileaur. As I got it on, I spun it for the first time with the cycle inverted. IT clicks, when spun without pedaling. It is like a kid's bike. I have never had that issue with a road bike before. What is clicking, and how can I turn it off?

There is no spoke or tire rubbing. It is all in the cassette or hub.

    Anybody help?

    Thanks!

  2. and please let me know, if more info would help.

MOST Freehubs-and-Freewheels make clicking noise when they are "freewheeling" (vs. engaged) and you are coasting (or, simulating coasting when the bike is inverted or in a workstand) -- some are louder than others & some are "silent" ...

    • the pawls are clicking as they pass the teeth on the engagement ring

However, it should NOT "click" when-you-are-pedaling-the-bike.

  4. My aksiums are a lot louder than my Velomax or Shimano freewheel mechanism.
