What's the best way to clean off sand from mtn bike? I ride
past a sandy area in the park and boy the sand got
everywhere, on the chain, etc.
Should I water it down with a hose? What do people
usually do?

Use a bucket with a light degergent solution or bike wash
and a soft brush. That'll loosen the sand. Then wash it off
with the hose nossle on a very fine mist. DO NOT SPRAY
DIRECTLY ONTO THE BB OR HUBS. If you do this with a light
enough spray, you should be fine. Dry it off immediately and
then lube it up immediately.--
