  1. Hello are there any tricks to cleaning contaminated disks.Chain oil got on the disks, most burned off but I had to replace the pads(on the new hayes elcamino set-up)then decided to give the disks a light rub with emmery paper😠 I've used rubbing alchol taking the rest of the contaminants off the disks.I;ve figured it isthe disk because the pads work great up front but just aren't fully grabing in the back!!!!Is there a way to get the disk back to normal????? tHANKS ANY ADVICE WOULD HELP

  2. hmm, usually the best you can do to clean them is to just clean with alcohol or a purpose made disc cleaner and hope it works 😄 maybe soak it in some cleaner and make sure the pads dont have oil on them again, if they do grind off the surface, if it looks like new underneath they can generally be re-used, just grind off the surface
