    Classic recipes

If you're planning a dinner party, check out Feeding America. You're
sure to find recipes that will delight your guests.

I recommend the parsnip fritters. You might try pairing them with the
cucumber catsup. Okay, these recipes come from a different time –
    literally.

The recipes come from 76 cookbooks in Michigan State University's
collection. They date back to the late 1700s.

The recipes have been digitized to highlight influential cookbooks in
America's history. You can view images of the pages or search text
copies of the books. Either way, it's remarkable to see how much
    American cuisine has changed!
