I have spoken to the seller of the first one, he doesn't seem like he knows much of anything about the bike. I'm waiting to hear back from the second one. I plan to go take a look at the two of them tomorrow.
I'm basically looking for a halfway decent road-style bike to cruise around on (perhaps take long-ish day trips), but my main focus is to figure out if I really even like riding in drop bars, so that if I do, I can invest in a really good road/touring bike next season. But as of now, these vintage Fuji bikes are really catching my eye...Any help is really, truly greatly appreciated.
Sorry Rob. Both of these Craig's List posts have been deleted by their authors. I guess the bikes sold. For future reference, Fuji is a good brand of bike. Also in order to help you along in your bicycle search, these two websites might help you quite a bit. They will give you quicker specs and reviews than what we can provide you with.
Play around with them a little so that you become used to the way that they work. Since quality goods like bikes tend to move quickly on Craigs List, these sites may help shave precious hours off of your bike search. Please let us know what you end up getting though. Good luck on your hunt.
Hi kdelong, I am aware that both have been sold and are gone from Craigslist because my girlfriend and I actually purchased both of them today. We are very excited. I know they are both on the lower end of Fuji bikes, but from all of my research, even their low-end bikes were pretty solid back then, and both are in really good shape for their age. Hers (the Monterey) needs a tune-up, but frame and components are in really good condition, far as I can tell. Here are a few pics of each one:
