I) Story- A14 yr old boy collided with a car after being forced to cycle to school when the bus
service he normally used was withdrawn (oh dear, this ain't gonna be good for getting folks onto
bikes...the story continues...)
school. He suffered concussion, cuts and bruises and although he needed hospital treatment, he was
not seriously hurt. (silver lining - still not good news for the reducing school run by cycling
campaign....)
oncoming car. His mother YYY today said the accident was a perfect example of why the decision to
withdraw the service, which had caused anger in the local community, was dangerous..... The
headteacher supported the mother with the quote "if the bus service was still here, he would not
have been cycling"
OK, I think you can see where this story is going. Is it just me or is something wrong here ? The
story was accompanied with a picture of the 20-something stone mom
her expression matched that of a bulldog chewing several wasps. I am trying really hard to resist
the temptation of writing the letter. I know they're doing it just to wind me up (b*stards...yes,
it's personal!!)
