  1. What are some factors in choosing an appropriate wetsuit?
Which brands and models do you like? Why?

I'm going to the Wildflower Tri where the water will be 65 to 68
degrees. It's my first tri. I've worn wetsuits for scuba diving, but
have not yet used wetsuits for swimming.

    Thanks,
    Laura

The only two I've owned are QR wetsuits, so I can't really compare other
brands, but here's what I was looking for.

The water I use a wetsuit for ranges from 65-75 or so. We have a couple
of races here in April when the water is still in the 60s, and Gulf Coast
tri has had temps anywhere from high 60s to high 70s, so I have always
brought one. I have yet to swim GCT in a wetsuit.

Since I don't need to swim in REALLY cold water, I have always used
"farmer john" style suits that don't have arms. I like having the fredom
of movement for my arms and shoulders. I do get the suit with the long
legs though, since I don't kick that hard on long swims. The extra warmth
for the legs and flotation out towards the ankles makes the long legs a
    desired feature for me.

There are big differences between wetsuits made for diving and surfing
vs. swimming, so a tri-specific wetsuit is a good idea.

In real estate the issue is location, location, location.

With wetsuits it is fit, fit, fit. I have two Ironman (now Blue Seventy)
brand suits and love them both. Others hate them and swear by other brands.
Find someplace that has at least a couple of brands and try them on. Buy
the one that feels most comfortable and fits the best. Pretty simple
    really.
