I want to get a new stem and was wondering if anyone would be able to answer a few questions on them?
My current Stem is pretty old and the make and model has worn off so I am not sure what angle it comes up, and what the length is. It came of a 02 Avanti Hammer and its been on a few bikes since them, but Its just a little short with my current frame.
I want to try and measure the length and angle of my current one so I can purchase one similar, just a bit longer, but not really sure where to measure from, and how to work out the angle it raises up at. Is anyone able to give me a couple of tips on how to get it?

Take it off and look inside. Often the info is stamped into the metal.
Otherwise measure it "center to center" for length; eyeball it for angle.
Of course, if you take it to a (gasp) /bike shop/, they can match things up and then add some length.
