Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me with a problem my wife is dealing with. She has had canker
sores since she was a kid, and tried everything she could think of to deal with them. A few years
ago she learned about lysene and started taking it, about 1000 ml per day. It's been a wonder for
her. On those occasions when the sores do flare up, they are short-lived and not nearly as painful
as they had been before.
At her last physical checkup, the doctor informed her that her cholesterol is fairly high and gave
her a list of foods to watch out for, as well as foods to eat more of. Thing is, we tend to eat
pretty well. Our diet included all the healthy things on his list, as well as only occasional
consumption of the things he suggested avoiding (red meat, butter etc). We aren't sure why her
cholesterol level is so elevated, especially considering mine is right where it should be.
Last night she came across an article in "Alternative Medicine" magazine that stated there might be
a correlation between lysene and cholesterol. This seems like it could be at least part of the
problem. Unfortunately, it might mean she needs to stop taking it, allowing the sores free reign.
Questions:
1) Has anyone else heard of the correlation between lysene and cholesterol?
2) Are there any suggestions for cholesterol-lowering substances that she can take without having to
stop the lysene?
3)If she were to stop taking lysene, are there any other remedies to deal with canker sores? She has
tried a number, but I'm sure there are others we haven't heard of.
