He's Super Mario, he does'nt need a reason. It's the same reason he cuts the sleeves off his top when he's not supposed to, for impact i suppose. Cycling needs more people with character, hope he stays on a bit longer. -
I think it`s his personal sponsor as Bell was Hamilton`s.

Yea, He rides with Specialized shoes and helmet while the team wears LAS helmets. Smart thing Mario managed to avoid having to wear those goofy LAS road helmets. And don't get me started on the LAS "aero" TT ones.
