Chest tightness after exercise w/beta blocker

    I workout via swimming or stationary bike for about 1/2 hour 3 times a week, and have been doing so
    for several years now without incident.

    I recently started taking Atenolol for tachycardia and BP regulation.

    I worked out pretty hard yesterday while on the Atenolol, max HR around 135 or so.

    Afterwards and for several hours my chest felt pretty tight almost like my heart was "sore" or
    something, I noticed it especially if I took a deep breath. I didn't like that feeling. Is
    that normal?

    No. You should inform your doctor.
