    Never tried it. I use the lee valley one...and that one works well for
    me.

    I've owned the electric version for years and my knives are fine. I
    sharpen them on it twice yearly, which is the same pattern as when I
    took them out to be sharpened. Between times, I use a steel or a
    regular whetting stone to hone the blade.
