Cheap LED headlights

I've got one, but I went to look at it to get the brand and there's no
writing on it but "white LED". It's bright enough that it actually provides
enough light to see by rather than just be seen, although to be honest it is
a little marginal in that respect. On a cloudy moonless night I can navigate
unlit bikepaths by a method other than "Ow! Bit to the left [censored]! Bit to the
right" etc. It has steady or "battle seizure robot" intermittant modes and
it lights up signs from a couple of hundred metres. I'm pretty happy with it
for $35.

I got a great compliment last night.
I'm testing my triathlon setup and wanted to do a longish ride. I set
off in the afternoon and rode until it was too dark to see anymore (55
km) then turned my lights on and headed home. I got back to town and
there's two bogons standing out the front of a cafe in shorts and tee
shirt and bare feet (10 degrees is a warm night in my town in winter
time) and one of them called out "Great lights mate, bright as!". I gave
him the thumbs up and a big grin. That's pretty cool.

That was with my latest twin 5 watt Luxeons that I keep going on about.
