Anyone give me some ideas of a decent (and cheapish) jacket that is both
water and wind proof.
It doesn't have to cope with subzero temperatures or torrential rain but
I'm after something to stop my arms from freezing up on days like today.
Usually I just wear a T-shirt under a fleece and today was cold...Very
cold.......
My legs were OK but my arms being static got a real chill on.
Anyways, the main problem seems to be the wind seeping through my top so
I thought I'd try and get a reasonable priced lightweight jacket that is
waterproof (showers more than downpours) and windproof.
Some jackets are advertised as water proof but not windproof, and some
look a bit bulky.
I don't want anything that's "clingy tight" either - I'm more a casual
person than your lycra clad proper cyclists (No offence to any devotees
of the skin tight look, but it just isn't me)
Final thing is - Could do with an inside pocket for the phone - Again,
must not get wet.
I'm only really after spending about 40 quid and so far best bets seem
to be :-
Lusso HT50
Aspen Pennine (Only mentions waterproof though) about 30 quid
Endura Commuter (Again, only mentions waterproof but looks quite nice)
about 30 quid
Endura laser - About 40 quid
Endura Monroe - Not completely waterproof but probably good enough for
me if I avoid proper downpours
Other than these, things are getting towards the 50 and over mark, which
is a bit more than I can afford.
Has anybody in here used one of the above jackets and if so, what did
you think?
Does it matter if wind resistant isn't actually stated on the spec? Is
waterproof more important?
Thanks for any advice and apologies for the lack of brevity in this post!
