I am training for the Chambers NE tri. I am new to the sport and was wondering if I should start doing bricks now or is it too early?

I did it last year. The course is pretty tough especially if it is your first tri. The mountain at the back end of the bike leg is really gruesome. I would definitely do as many bricks as possible. Particularly after big gear intervals.

Mountain? Nebraska? Reminds me of the episode of 24 where CTU lost track of some a truck carrying a nuke (or something) in the mountains of Iowa

You laugh. I did this two years ago. That mountain is a bear. We are talking about a compact crank with a 28 on the rear. At minimum.

I'm not doubting it was tough, but it was not a mountain, quite possibly a big hill. I grew up in nebraska. Is there a website for this ride? I'd like to see where it is.
