  1. I went for a ride along Beach Road, on the weekend. I got talking to a
guy who had just done the Hell Ride and seemed pretty switched on. He
reckons he uses Prolink Chain Lube and he doesn't have to use solvent to
clean his chain. I checked out his chain and it was like clean as a
whistle. He said Prolink on a rag wiped off all the dirt without
solvents. What gets me is that he also said that although ProLink was
used to clean his chain to keep it clean all the time, he got the
smoothest well lubed chain operation he'd ever had. Has anyone used this
stuff & does it really work like that?

If it is the stuff in the little white bottle, I've used it. It seems t
flush out a lot of gunk but that's because it IS a solvent (at least
that's what it looks like). It's kind of like spraying your chain wit
really light kero. It cleans some stuff off and lubes a bit, but I'
sure the dedicated chain cleaners out there have better methods. Th
coke bottle + citrus cleaner or kero method for example..

    hipp
