My chain falls off when I shift from the 50 to the 36 chain ring.
I want to buy a chain guide to prevent this. But none of the three
brands will fit the 12cm seat post of my Specialized Roubaix. (The
three are Dog Fang, 3rd Eye and the Jump Stop.) Does anyone know of a
similar product that will fit onto a 12 cm seat post?

comes to mind.Try a dedicated compact FD as well.....

the distance between many cranks.Alternate approach: get one of the fders that has a bracket that is
sandwiched in under the right BB flange; the bracket will protect the
seatpost from damage quite nicely.Of course, simply adjusting the vertical position and inner limit
screw on your existing fder should solve the problem...
