I'm new to this, so go easy. I have a roadbike, and the chain snapped a while back. I bought a new one, and without thinking, stuck it on the bike, and connected it - job done.
Then I realised it was too long, so went back to the shop, bought a tool to take the chain apart. So now I have "broken" the chain, and removed a few links by "breaking" it further back.
Now, I can't see how to get it back together again?? I just cant get the little rod into the hole for love nor money...
There must be a technique to this that I'm missing? Help!

Well, ya don't push the pin all the way out. Shimano sells replacement pins. www.parktool.com repair section has all you need to know about chains and proper chain sizing .
