  1. Folks,
i've had to buy a new front mech but i'm having dificulty in
getting the chain to stop rubbing on the outer cage when on the 6th and 7th
    sprockets.
I'm running 7 speed but it's an M761 front mech.
Anyone offer advice on the solution?

    Regards.

Turn the screw, bend the cage in,and maybe it work. It does for me.

  3. Turning the screw to the position where it doesn't grate on the outer
cage, results in not being able to shift to the small chain ring.I'm not
going down the road of vandalising the mech to get it to work so i'll take
it back and get a 7 speed specific.Regards

Let me guess, you're in the front middle chainring when you're
shifting into the smalles sprocket when you hear the noise? That noise
is set up to be a hint that you should shift up to the big ring/middle
    rear.
